For family reasons, Toninho Horta can no longer travel. Louis Matute has decided to invite Joyce Moreno, another key representative of Brazilian popular music since the 1970s.
4-time Grammy Award nominee JOYCE MORENO, legendary guitarist, composer and singer, is one of the founding pillars of Brazilian popular music (MPB). Active since 1968, JOYCE MORENO has composed more than 400 songs performed by the biggest names in Brazilian popular music: from Elis Regina and Gal Costa to Milton Nascimento, Sergio Mendes and countless others. Beyond Brazil, Joyce's work has been recorded by Annie Lennox, Wallace Roney, Omara Portuondo, Black Eyed Peas, David Sanchez, Flora Purim among others. To date, she has released 39 personal CDs and 2 DVDs, in addition to numerous compilations and participations. In 2015, her musical work was honored at Berklee College of Music.
LOUIS MATUTE, recently awarded the 2022 "Evidence" prize by the Jazz Academy, is recognized as one of the most interesting Swiss jazz guitarists of the moment. He is now one of the artists of the Montreux Jazz Foundation and is an Associate Artist at L’Abri. He is the winner of the Cully Jazz Festival prize, the Jazz Contrebande competition and the ZKB Audience Jazz Award in Zürich.
Passionate about Brazilian music and its historical relationship with the guitar, Louis invited the great Brazilian guitarist, composer and singer Joyce Moreno, for a collaboration and a unique concert at the Alhambra in Geneva.
